Andrew G. Setos

A fellow of the SMPTE, Mr. Setos is CEO of Blackstar. He is also a founding partner in SOURCE/PICTURE. He rose to President, Engineering of the Fox Group during a 24 year stint at that company. Mr. Setos has spent his entire career in a variety of media efforts, including local and network broadcast television, cable networks, theatrical motion pictures and various distribution plays, including digital delivery. He has accepted three Emmy awards for Engineering, the most recent being the Charles F. Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award. More ]

Paul Beeman, MBA, PMP

Mr. Beeman has spent the bulk of his career designing satellite systems for carriage of audio-video direct-to-home, cable and broadcast networks in the Americas. He has set many standards for satellite delivery. He now lectures and practices Project Management for clients. More ]

Dr. Gregory Clark

Dr. Clark is currently Chairman of KaComm, a cutting edge satellite operator designed to serve Australia. He spent 15 years as a Research Staff Member in the IBM Research Division, Yorktown Heights, New York. He has held many operating positions, including President of News Technology Group and a Member of the News Corporation Executive Committee, President and Chief Operating Officer of Loral Space and Communications based in New York and Chairman of GlobalStar and SatMex. Eileen Doherty

A former White House aide to President Reagan, Eileen Doherty has years of experience in corporate communications strategy and public policy analysis. Eileen joined Sprint in 1994 as Manager of Corporate Communications. Eileen has served as the chief spokesperson at NTIA. In April 1985, Eileen joined the Reagan White House staff as Associate Director of Private Sector Initiatives. In 1982, she became a special assistant to EPA Administrator William D. Ruckleshaus. Seth Haberman

Mr. Haberman is Founder and CEO of Visible World, perhaps the most successful targeted advertising company in the world. Scott Hamilton

Mr. Hamilton's contributing work in high speed WAN and satellite data communications with X.25, TDM, and FDM predated the publication of Ethernet. As a software engineer, he has developed large scale real-time control systems for the FAA, Air Force, and the Advanced Television Test Center. Video editing systems, closed captioning playout and Blu-ray security include his media systems development experience.

Bob Papper

Mr. Papper is the Lawrence Stessin Distinguished Professor of Journalism and chair of the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations at Hofstra University. He has been involved in broadcast journalism his entire career as a broadcaster, educator and author. He is active in the RTNDA and other associations and has received many distinctions, including Edward R. Murrow and Dupont-Columbia awards for excellence in broadcast journalism. More ]

Mark Schubin

Multiple Emmy-award-winning SMPTE Fellow Mark Schubin is a media technologist who works on live event teleproduction, aural and visual quality standards and practices, human perception, and legal issues associated with intellectual property and forensic analysis. He has been qualified as an expert witness on audio, film, television, and video and their histories. He lectures frequently, and his technology blog is archived by the Library of Congress. More ]

Lisa H. Setos

Ms. Setos is the Vice Chair of Blackstar. She has experience in Broadway Productions, Musicals, and Linear channels. She was employed by the company that launched MTV.

R. Evans Wetmore, P.E.

Mr. Wetmore's skills and expertise include project management, communications engineering, digital cinema, RF engineering, and R & D. He has worked in Hollywood on Special Effects for such features as Star Trek—the Motion Picture, Brainstorm, and Bladerunner. He was one of the principal engineers at the Advanced Television Test Center which evaluated the proposed digital television systems for the US. Some of his projects include digitizing the entire Fox-Movietone newsreel library, design of television transmitting antennas, RF issues surrounding digital television, and the analysis of various spectrum issues. He is a Fellow of SMPTE, an Associate Member of the ASC, and a registered professional engineer. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. [ evansw@earthlink.net ]
